On behalf of the entire Organizational Members of Honourable Mukhtar Idi Maiha for Good Governance and Livestock Development (HMI-4-GGLD), we extend our heartiest congratulations to the International Security Czar and National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, CON, on his well-deserved conferment with the prestigious traditional title of Sardaunan Adamawa by His Royal Highness, the Lamido Adamawa, Alhaji Dr. Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa, PhD, CFR.

Our warm congratulations also go to the Honourable Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha, fnim, whose decades-long family relationship and elderly brotherly bond with the NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, remain well-known and cherished. His wisdom, guidance, and unwavering support to national development and security are immeasurably appreciated.

This recognition of Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, CON, is not only a personal honour but also a celebration of the ideals he embodies as a patriot, nationalist, bridge-builder, detribalised Nigerian, and globally respected security strategist. His tireless commitment to safeguarding our nation and his pivotal role in advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, particularly in the area of national security, has already yielded tremendous progress within the short span of two years.

In his remarks, the Founder and National Coordinator of HMI-4-GGLD, Honourable Lawan Sadiq Abubakar, described the newly crowned Sardauna of Adamawa, NSA Nuhu Ribadu, CON, as “one of the finest and most brilliant Nigerians, an incorruptible security expert, and the pioneer Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), who left behind indelible legacies that will forever remain on the sands of time.”

We also extend our deepest gratitude to His Royal Highness, the Lamido Adamawa, Alhaji Dr. Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa, PhD, CFR, for bestowing this esteemed traditional title upon NSA Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, CON. It came as a surprise and a rude shock, my sudden expulsion from the NNPP.
I strongly believe the contents of the interview I granted few days ago in English and Hausa should not warrant such heavy penalty because it is in tandem with the core principles of our party and movement which allows for dissenting views overtly or covertly. I expected the party to pick lessons from the interview. For the purpose of emphasis, I stand by all the statements I made in the interviews.

No invitation was extended to me to defend or explain myself by any organ of the party and in the process, neglecting the very important principle of fair hearing, due process and justice that the NNPP cry out loud and demand from others. Even under military dictatorship, an accused is subjected to a court martial. Perhaps, if the appropriate processes were followed, the need for such harsh decision to force me out of a party and family I love so dearly may not be necessary.

While, I would have loved to stay in the NNPP and continue my service to our people and country despite differences on some issues (which I will adress elaborately in due course to avoid people being mislead), the party has made and announced a decision. I am therefore obliged to accept the decision of the party in good faith and without grudges. But for the respect I have for the party, its members and leaders, I would have viewed this action as null and void as it failed to follow due process or coming from a factional group of the party and test it in court. I will rather wish the party well and go in peace. I beg the party to allow me also go in peace.

On the issue of non-payment of my dues, I am appealing to the party that there is no need to go to court as I have never refused to pay my dues. I respectfully request the party to send me the invoice and I will promptly pay. I have always advocated for harmonious relationships in Kano and Nigeria, so I am appealing to NNPP to stay on the part of decorum without personal attacks or throwing abuses and insults as we part ways. For me, relationship will continue irrespective of party affiliation.

The party’s position on political value is no news to me. The party does not believe any body has political value and come short in treating people with the respect they deserve at various levels. This case is a clear instance. I am grateful to the Almighty for what ever value I have, no matter how little and will be more than glad to invest it where it will be appreciated with dignity rather than a place where no matter what you bring on board, you are a nobody and you brought nothing!

While thanking the party for the support I enjoyed during our sojourn, I am proud of my contributions to the party and movement over the years. Whether it is acknowledged or not, I am happy enough with Allah SWT as witness.

I welcome all my supporters who wish to join me in my new journey. But for those who chose to remain in NNPP, I hold no grudges against them and I look forward to keeping a peaceful and harmonious relationship with them both at the local, state and national levels.

Finally, I will carefully weigh all the options before me as I decide on my next political home. SO HELP ME GOD.

His Excellency Former Governor of Kano State, former APC National Chairman, and Chairman Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), DR. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, paid a courtesy visit to Alh. Tanko Yakasai last night at his residence.

As an Elder Statesman in Northern Nigeria , Alhaji Yakasai has been around from the past decades and present in Nigeria’s Political History , he is also approaching his 100th years of age in the world .

Dr. Ganduje after a cordial discussion with the Elder Statesman on the state of the Nation concluded the visit wth prayers for good health and longevity for Alh. Tanko Yakasai.

Today, as I reflect upon the cascade of goodwill messages that reached me from across Nigeria and beyond, I see life breathed into this eternal truth.

I am deeply moved by the kind words and generous outpouring of prayers and goodwill, particularly from my boss, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and our beloved mother of the nation, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on the occasion of my 59th birthday.

Mr. President, your heartfelt message, steeped in warmth and comradeship, has touched me profoundly. This feeling, as you well know, is mutual.

The bond we share, anchored in loyalty and service, is one I will never take for granted. I have watched you shoulder the burden of difficult choices at critical moments, steering our nation through turbulent waters into a harbour of stability that promises abundance. To serve alongside you, under your visionary and people-centred leadership, in shaping the destiny of our great nation through the Renewed Hope Agenda, is both an honour and a lifelong lesson in courage and statesmanship.

I must also extend my deepest appreciation to our State Governors, Distinguished Senators, Honourable Members of the House of Representatives, cabinet members, traditional rulers, religious leaders, community figures, and the countless Nigerians from every walk of life who have reached out with words of kindness.

Your prayers and your solidarity remind me, once more, of the sacred responsibility that public service imposes upon us.
As I meditate on these tokens of goodwill, I am renewed in purpose and fortified in spirit. I remain convinced, as does Mr. President, that Nigeria’s greatest days are ahead of us. With unity of will, clarity of vision, and fidelity to our shared aspirations, we shall overcome our trials and bequeath to coming generations a nation that is secure, prosperous, and just.

Mr Seyi Tinubu, who has been an active advocate for the effectiveness of the Office of the Senior Special Assistants, centered his discussion around strategic planning, inter agency coordination , reporting and briefing , and support for the Renewed Hope Presidential initiatives, Seyi also acknowledged the efforts of the SSAP’s, while understanding some challenges they overcome but encouraged the team to keep up the good job going as he was well pleased with them all.

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, SFIPMA, MNIM, MNIPS, MASIS, has tasked Tactical and Operational Commanders within the Command to remain resolute and sustain their efforts in the fight against crime. This charge was delivered during a conference with the Commanders, where the CP commended their commitment to the Command’s Operation Kukan Kura initiative, aimed at combating criminal activities across the State.

  1. CP Bakori highlighted the notable achievements recorded under Operation Kukan Kura, including a steady reduction in the menace of thuggery-related crimes (Daba) and other criminal activities. He expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the relative peace being enjoyed in the State, attributing this success to the dedication, professionalism, and hard work of the Commanders and their men.
  2. While commending the progress made, the Commissioner of Police emphasized the need for continued vigilance and sustained efforts. He urged the Commanders to remain proactive and relentless in their operations until all criminal elements either abandon their unlawful activities or are brought to justice.
  3. The CP also reiterated the importance of adopting community-centered policing, which places emphasis on fostering strong collaboration with the public. He noted that active community participation is essential for preventing and detecting crime, as well as promoting mutual trust between the police and the people.
  4. Furthermore, CP Bakori charged the Commanders to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in their duties. He strongly warned against corruption and unprofessional conduct, stating that such behavior undermines the Command’s efforts to maintain safety and security.
  5. The Commissioner commended all officers and men of the Command for their unwavering dedication to crime fighting, urging them to remain steadfast in their commitment to protecting lives and property. He assured them of the Command’s continued support and encouragement as they carry out their duties.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press,

It is my pleasure to welcome you once again to Bompai, the Headquarters of Kano State Police Command. This press briefing is to update you on the current security situation in Kano State as well as highlighting the Command’s recent operational successes, particularly through the “Operation Kukan Kura” initiative, which has played a pivotal role in reclaiming public spaces from criminal elements.

  1. In line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, Federal Republic of Nigeria, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, on community-centered policing, the Kano State Police Command intensified its efforts through the implementation of “Operation Kukan Kura”, which incorporates both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches. This initiative is designed to foster active public participation in policing and collaborative approach to addressing criminal activities.
  2. “Operation Kukan Kura” engages communities as active stakeholders in policing efforts, leveraging their unique positions as the eyes and ears of the Police within neighborhoods. This approach akin to community policing, has yielded remarkable results, particularly a significant reduction in thuggery-related crimes (Fadan-Daba) across the State. The steady decline in these crimes underscores the effectiveness of this strategy and the vital role played by community members in supporting its implementation.
  3. Within the month of August 2025, the Command achieved notable operational successes, including the arrest of one hundred and seven(107) suspects involved in various major crimes such as armed robbery, illicit drug trafficking, motor vehicle and motorcycle theft, thuggery, and other social vices. A summary of these achievements is as follows:

xi. Five (5) Packets, Twenty-one (21) Pieces of suspected Exol Tablets.

From the launch of ‘Operation Kukan Kura’ on 1st July, 2025 to date, a total of four hundred and sevnty three (473) dangerous weapons, and a large quantity of illicit drugs have been recovered.

  1. We commend our officers for their selfless service, even as we continue to remain committed to refining our strategies and leveraging community collaboration, technological resources, and operational capabilities to tackle any likely emerging security challenges. We will continue to adapt and innovate our approaches to stay ahead of criminal elements and maintain peace and stability in the State.
  2. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to you , the members of the Press, and law-abiding people of Kano State for your cooperations, vigilance, and support. Their willingness to share information and report suspicious activities has greatly amplified our capacity to maintain peace and security.
  3. I urge all Kano residents to partner with the Police and report any suspicious activities to the nearest Police Station or the Command’s emergency contact numbers.
