Honourable Minister of Livestock Development Idi Mukhtar Maiha Pays Respects at the Three-day Fidau Prayer of Former Late President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR
“Inna lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un – Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.”
In a moment of solemn national reflection and profound grief, the Honourable Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha, joined the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Senator Kashim Ibrahim Shettima, GCON, along with formers' and serving Ministers, Executive Governors, Distinguished Members of the National and States Assembly, Top Government Functionaries, Captains of Industries, Royal Fathers, Renowned Islamic Scholars and thousands of patriotic Nigerians for the Three-day Fidau Prayers and condolence rites of Nigeria’s former President, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State.
Also in attendance was the Founder and National Coordinator of Honourable Mukhtar Idi Maiha for Good Governance and Livestock Development (HMI-4-GGLD), Honourable Lawan Sadiq Abubakar, who arrived Daura in the company of His Highness, Alhaji Hamisu Yusuf (Sarkin Gabas of Daura), to offer heartfelt condolences and partake in the three-day Fidau prayers, as well as the final honours for the late statesman.
Addressing mourners shortly after offering his prayers, Honourable Minister Idi Mukhtar Maiha described the late Muhammadu Buhari as “a symbol of integrity, an icon of patriotism, and a selfless leader who sacrificed everything for the unity, security and progress of our great nation.”
In his emotional tribute, the Honourable Minister Idi Mukhtar Maiha offered these words of prayer: “May Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings, expand his grave, and admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus. May his legacy of discipline, simplicity and love for Nigeria live forever in our hearts and in the destiny of this country. Ameen.”
As the sun set on the city of Daura, the presence of Honourable Minister Idi Mukhtar Maiha and other high-ranking officials signified the weight of national gratitude owed to the late Muhammadu Buhari; a man whose life was defined by service, humility, and unwavering commitment to Nigeria.
The Honourable Minister also used the occasion to call for unity, prayers, and a renewed spirit of leadership among the nation’s current and upcoming leaders. “This is a reminder that power is transient, but legacy is eternal. Let us all strive to live impactful lives, guided by truth, justice and the fear of Almighty Allah,” he concluded.
The dignified participation of the Honourable Minister and the HMI-4-GGLD team in the solemn ceremonies underscored their unwavering respect for national heroes and reaffirmed their commitment to building a Nigeria that truly works for all.
