The women leaders were accompanied by Hon. Murtala Maikifi, an entrepreneur and grassroot mobiliser to my office, where they announced their exit from. the Kwankwasiyya Movement and NNPP.
My distinguished colleague, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Primary Healthcare, Development & Disease Control, Senator Ibrahim Lamido joined me in receiving the grassroot women leaders.My Special Adviser on Women Affairs, Hajiya Yardada Maikano Bichi did the symbolic veil changing as the women leaders replaced their red veils with white. Speaking on behalf of the women leaders, Hajiya Fadi Dahiru Farawa, Women Leader of Mariri Ward, said they left NNPP in view of the injustices and the crisis rocking the party. I assured them that they have made the right choice by joining APC, a party where they will be respected and given opportunities to serve their communities.
Our party recognizes the vital role of women in politics and governance. They will be carried along like all members of our party.
