KANO POLICE COMMAND REITERATES COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY POLICING AND ZERO TOLERANCE TO CORRUPTION

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Police Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, convened a security briefing with Heads of Departments (HODs) and Tactical Commanders in the Command today, July 7, 2025. The meeting aimed to review ongoing security operations and chart a way forward in the fight against crime in Kano State.

  1. During the meeting, CP Bakori expressed his satisfaction with the evidential results from the Command’s people-oriented/community policing strategy in crime-fighting, maintenance of law and public order, and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the State. He charged them to sustain their efforts in crime prevention, management, and control, emphasizing that the Command’s commitment to tackle crime remains unwavering.
  2. The Commissioner of Police reiterated the importance of community policing, urging officers to continue engaging with the community and all security stakeholders to foster trust, cooperation, and a sense of shared responsibility for security. He emphasized that community policing is key to effective crime prevention and management.
  3. Furthermore, CP Bakori uses the medium to reiterate the Command’s stance on zero-tolerance policy to corrupt practices, stating that any officer found wanting in this regard would be held accountable for their actions.
  4. The Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in Kano State. The meeting served as a platform for the Commissioner to re-emphasize the Command’s core values of professionalism, integrity, and service to the community.
